Title: The effect different temperatures have on fish respiratory system

Question: How do different temperatures affect fish respiratory system?

Hypothesis: If the temperature is 78°F then the oxygen consumption will increase. If the temperature is 70° then the oxygen will decrease.  

Method:

Incubation chamber 1:

  1. Measure 1 liters of fresh water
  2. Heat water to 78°F
  3. Wait for the chamber to reach 78°F
  4. Place the 1 fish in and start the timer for 30 minutes
  5. After 30 minutes record results and observations
  6. Take the crab out of water and place them into their habitat
  7. Keep the same water in the incubation chamber
  8. Add a new fish
  9. Repeat steps 4-6
Incubation chamber 2:
  1. Measure 1 liters of dechlorinated water
  2. Mix instant ocean with the water - salinity of 1.020
  3. Place the 1 crabs in and start the timer for 30 minutes
  4. After 30 minutes record results and observations
  5. Take the crab out of water and place them into their habitat
  6. Keep the same water in the incubation chamber
  7. Add a new crab
  8. Repeat steps 3-5
  9. Clean up

Fish food
